The Spirit of Giving

To get in the spirit of giving this holiday season, The Groves of Tustin Senior Living residents, staff and families, collected over 50 gifts to be given to Orange County seniors who have no close family or friends and are living alone or in residential care facilities. This is part of the Southern California Council on Aging’s SmileMakers Guild that delivers gifts each holiday season to over 2700 deserving seniors in our area.

In addition to participating in the gift drive, The Groves of Tustin Senior Living also launched its holiday baking program “Cookies-for-a-Cause”. Community members, residents, families and staff can purchase homemade holiday cookies by the dozen for $8 between December 11 – December 31, 2016. All profits will support SeniorServ which provides a variety of necessary services to homebound seniors.

As Christopher Reeve said, “Success is finding satisfaction in giving a little more than you take.” Happy Holidays!

Walk to End Alzheimer’s

“Team Memories Matter” raised over $9200 to support the Alzheimer’s Association “Walk to End Alzheimer’s” surpassing their original goal of $8000. Funds will be used to support the Alzheimer’s Association’s mission to find a cure for the disease. Groves staff, families and residents walked to support the cause. Thank you to all of our sponsors for your support!
